Photo by Hannah Foslien/Getty Images How NBA players compare running the 40-yard dash An instagram post discussed how most NFL athletes measure speed using the 40-yard dash. Xavier Worthy clocked the fastest 40-yard dash in NFL history at 4.21 seconds. How are NBA players by comparison? Check this out: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ham Takes (@hamtakes) Derrick Rose once ran the forty in 4.18 seconds, beating the NFL record. Tony Parker, with a 4.28 second forty, was one of the quickest in NBA history. Apparently John Wall, a high school track athlete, trained with Olympic sprinters and tops out at 4.35. And while smaller built guards may seem to be the quickest sprinters, LeBron James, at 6’9” and 270 lbs while in Miami, notched a speed of 4.5. The post’s host Ham Takes also mentions De’Aaron Fox and Russell Westbrook, both known for turning it on in the open court. Not all NBA players record their time for a forty, but if this was a measure taken at the combine, who else do you think could make this list? Welcome to the Thread.
