BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A 7-year-old boy has been airlifted to the hospital after a shooting in Burlington on Thursday night. At around 7:54 p.m. on Thursday, officers came to the 1300 block of Beaumont Court after getting multiple calls about a disturbance in an apartment complex and a single gunshot. 2 North Carolina high school students killed in afterschool crash While en route to the scene, police learned from additional calls to 911 that the victim in a shooting was a child. At the scene, officers found a 7-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was airlifted to a nearby trauma center. Witnesses at the scene told investigators the child was not involved in the disturbance that led to the shooting. Police did not provide any information on a suspect at this time.
