ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Folks laced up their sneakers Thursday as MVP Health Care hosted its inaugural MVP Fitness Court Challenge. Partnering with the National Alliance on Mental Illness, people at MVP reviewed the link between physical activity and mental wellbeing. The day was full of activities, including raffle prizes and plenty of exercise, of course. It all happened at the Cobbs Hill Park fitness court. Participants were tasked with working together to conquer all seven fitness stations. MVP Health Care officials said it's all about getting folks outdoors and active. "We're out here just trying to create healthier communities, create opportunity, show everyone that exercise is fun and accessible to all," said Margaret Leonardo, leader of the health promotion team. "We've got courts, three courts in the Rochester region, that people can take advantage of, and we just want to make sure that people who want to partake in it feel like they know what they're doing when they get out there and have a good time with us." She also said this was just one of three fitness challenges around the state through MVP Health Care. The others happened in Schenectady and Mount Vernon.
