TOPEKA (KSNT) - Shawnee County leaders have approved the 2025 budget and the increases that come with it. The Shawnee County Board of Commissioners signed off on its 2025 budget Thursday morning. Overall, commissioners approved a budget that increased nearly $6 million from the 2024 budget. The five county departments: law enforcement, recreation, public works, public health and administrative services have increased funding since the year prior. Even though the estimated budget increased, the mill levy for 2025 is on the decline. The estimated mill levy is 48.338, a .31 decrease from the 2024 budget.
