TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A Taunton pet owner said she was trying to move her pet pig to a better home when he got loose and ran off. The community is now helping Angela Breen search for one of her two pot-bellied pigs. Jerry got loose from Deep Pond Farm and Stables, where he was set to live with his brother Hammy. “We were transporting him over here, and just one wrong move and he took off into the woods,” Breen said. She is asking residents in the area of Dolan Circle to keep an eye out for Jerry. “We’re really just trying to get any sort of help,” Breen added. “We would really love to get Jerry home to be with his brother.” The pigs have been together since they were just a year old. Vanessa Vangiesen works at the farm and said they have made lengthy efforts to bring Jerry home. “We’ve been going out every single day looking for Jerry,” she said. “Because, obviously, Hammy misses his friend.” Breen said she is holding out hope. “I’m heartbroken, it’s been a very hard couple of days,” she said. “So I hope maybe someone will see him or know something or try to help us get him back here, it would be really appreciated.” Breen added that Taunton Animal Control have been assisting with the search, and anyone with information is asked to contact them at 508-822-1463 or the farm at 508-738-0757.
