HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Firefighters in Kauai have contained about 60% of a fire on a ridge above Wainiha Powerhouse Road, which has burned an estimated 20 acres. Firefighters and private landowners will monitor the area overnight from a command post set up at Camp Naue. Efforts to combat the fire will resume Friday morning with the help of personnel from the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife. Emergency responders from the Hanalei Fire Station, along with Air 1, Air 2, Air 3, the on-duty Battalion Chief, private landowners, Rescue 3, Tanker 1, and the Kauai Police Department are all involved in the firefighting efforts.
