NDHHS to host public event discussing respiratory illness prevention efforts

FARGO, ND (KXNET) — North Dakota Health & Human Services (HHS) will hold an event Monday in Fargo where doctors will discuss the organization's fall respiratory illness prevention efforts.
Healthcare leaders from the HHS, Sanford Health, Essentia Health and others will speak about the respiratory illnesses that impact people the most in the fall and winter, and how to immunize yourself from them.
There has recently been a spike in Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, in Cass County, and Fargo Cass Public Health (FCPH) is recommending you get vaccinated.
Century High School hosts walk to prepare for statewide Walk for Down Syndrome
A parent from the HHS will share her family's story about the impact of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and a special guest will receive an immunization at the event.
The event will be Monday, Sept. 23 at 10:30 a.m. in the Oak Room at FCPH.
