ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Sunshine helped take Rochester to day 10 without rainfall on our Thursday. It also helped temperatures climb back close to 80° this afternoon. Clear skies and lows in the 50s will be followed by another day of sunshine and lower 80s tomorrow. The only thing in our sky through that stretch will be the haze of elevated wildfire smoke. We're becoming increasingly mildfull of the possibility for a few Saturday downpours as a quick piece of energy swings by. Higher resolution guidance has added some confidence to this forecast idea, so we're introducing that rain risk accordingly. Action should be scattered and favor the afternoon. Otherwise, the day remains quiet. Sunday should also be dry under partly cloudy skies. Next week has trended more unsettled with today's model suite, suggestive of a shift in the overall pattern that would ultimately bring daily rain chances back into the forecast. This is a shift in overall mindset, so we're waiting to see some greater consistency in this idea. For now, we're cautiously optimistic beneficial rain could be on the table next week. 8-Day Forecast
