HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A man was arrested on Wednesday after Sunday night gunfire damaged a Hopewell home and a car that had at least one person inside of it. At about 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, multiple people contacted the Hopewell Police Department to report shots fired in the 3200 block of Oaklawn Boulevard. When officers arrived at the scene, they found spent cartridge casings in the roadway. According to police, investigators learned that a home had been damaged by gunfire, as well as an occupied car. No one was injured. On Wednesday, Sept. 18, police said a man had been arrested in connection to this incident. He faces several charges: shooting at an occupied vehicle, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, shooting a firearm within city limits, reckless handling of a firearm and discharging a firearm across a road in a city.
