FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — A Plainville man who's already behind bars has been found guilty of indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14.
David Puccio, 54, was convicted of the charge by a jury last week, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III announced on Thursday.
The incident happened back in November 2021 at a furniture store in North Attleboro. According to Quinn, Puccio touched a female employee inappropriately after she showed him around the store for about 45 minutes and he declined to buy anything.
When she asked what he was doing, Puccio allegedly said, "I’m sorry. I’m Italian. I walk with my hands."
Puccio was sentenced to serve four and a half to five years in state prison. Quinn said that term will begin once Puccio finishes a separate five-year sentence he began serving in December 2022 for violating the terms of his probation connected to another indecent assault case involving a child in Norfolk County.
