James 'Jim' Brennan died on June 21 at the age of 91. The former Marine and cheerleader came up with the idea for the St. Joseph's University mascot, the Hawk, and its continuous flapping. Through the years, he's remained connected with his alma mater while also working as a nursing home administrator.
