JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) -- James City County is reiterating their policy after recent violence at Busch Gardens has prompted the county to remind to community of its curfew for minors in and around the park. Previous Coverage: Busch Gardens requiring chaperones during Howl-O-Scream after recent violence Since the start of this year's Howl-O-Scream, Busch Gardens has already had two separate cases of serious fights breaking out, one resulting in an 18-year-old being stabbed on Sept. 14. Now, both Busch Gardens and James City County are cracking down on restrictions to protect the park and guests. Previous Coverage: Police: Busch Gardens visitor stabbed during fight After the stabbing incident, Busch Gardens came out with a new chaperone policy. The new rule requires those 15 years old and under to have a chaperone 21+ at the park, who is available by phone, if staying past 4 p.m. Previous Coverage: Altercation at Busch Gardens Saturday night prompted police response James City County has also declared that between midnight and 5 a.m., anyone under 18 years old is also not allowed to be on any public place in the county without a parent, guardian or custodian. This includes streets, parks, vacant lots, playgrounds, wharfs, docks, place of amusement, etc. While this curfew was already in place for the county, it is being reiterated that it's also to be enforced at the park and in the surrounding lots. The curfew excludes emergencies, school events, or when a minor is traveling to or from a job. "Parent and guardians are responsible for ensuring the timely pick-up and supervision of all minors attending Busch Gardens' Howl-O-Scream, in accordance with the park's new Chaperone Policy," a release by the county states.
