CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A 19-year-old was arrested in connection to the drive-by shootings at a west Charlotte apartment complex that resulted in a two-year-old girl being shot in the neck, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Demetrick McDonald was arrested on Wednesday without incident. He has been charged with 20 counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and conspiracy. The shooting happened around 1:40 a.m. Sunday at Evoke Living at Westerly Hills. When officers arrived, they found several apartments hit with bullets and a two-year-old victim shot in the stomach. The child was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She is listed in stable condition, police said.  A GoFundMe has been set up to help assist the family with relocating and medical bills. For more information on this story, click HERE.
