WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Get ready as 300 drones will soon fly over Wichita skies. Exploration Place will host the show for three nights from Friday, Sept. 20 to Sunday, Sept. 22. The festival will also include the grand opening of the new Wichita Foundation Amphitheater at the museum. The drones will launch from the Mid-America All-Indian Museum grounds, offering a stunning view of the Keeper of the Plains. Each night’s show will include the special lighting of the Keeper of the Plains firepots, weather permitting. In addition to the drone light show, festival-goers can enjoy floating Chinese water lanterns in Exploration Place’s reflecting pond and a candlelit concert featuring over 2,000 candles. Ramp at busy Wichita interchange to close next week Gates will open at 6 p.m., and the drone show will start at 9 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy live music, demonstrations, games, local vendors, food, drinks and other entertainment. Admission also includes access to Exploration Place and its popular laser shows in the Dome Theater.
