TOPEKA (KSNT) - Multiple Kansas-based animal shelters will be lowering adoption prices in October this year in a push to help people save the lives of local pets. Brittany Schlacter with BISSEL Pet Foundation said in a press release on Sept. 19 that it is partnering with four Kansas animal shelters from Oct. 1-15. During this time, people can expect to find reduced adoption fees at the following shelters: Hutchinson Animal Shelter. Doniphan County Pet Rescue, LLC. Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary. Helping Hands Humane Society, Inc. Nemaha County sheriff plans ‘mass casualty drill’ at local school The foundation hopes that by lowering costs for future pet owners, more animals will be adopted and moved from kennels to loving homes. Adoption fees will be knocked down at the shelters listed above and more than 350 others nationwide so people can adopt a new pet for $50 or less.
