Police spot gun inside apartment during disturbance call on Spring Street in Springfield, suspect arrested

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Police seized a ghost gun during a disturbance call on Spring Street in Springfield.
According to the Springfield Police Department, at around 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, officers were called to an apartment on the 0-100 block of Spring Street for a disturbance report. Upon arrival, a victim and child were allegedly assaulted and the suspect possibly had a gun.

The suspect refused to open the door for the officers for about 15 minutes. When the suspect did open the door, officers could see a firearm on a couch. Officers were able to gain entry into the apartment and secure the firearm. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Angel Vazquez of Springfield was arrested and charged with the following:
Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card
Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine/Feeding Device
Resisting Arrest
Assault & Battery
Assault & Battery on a Child with Injury

The large-capacity firearm was a Ghost Gun that was loaded and capable of holding 12 rounds of ammunition.
