WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Thursday is Massachusetts Day at The Big E and Governor Healey is one of the many thousands of people enjoying the fair. Governor Healey and Lt. Gov. Driscoll joined The Big E President and CEO Gene Cassidy for a tour of the grounds and had a chance to meet local businesses and farmers making a difference right in our state.  Both Governor Healey and Lt. Gov. Driscoll were proud to have the chance to thank small business owners face to face, and Healey expressed her plan to support Massachusetts agriculture at both the local and state levels. A look at the Big E’s agricultural heritage "We have a stronger presence in terms of personnel in western Massachusetts, we love western Massachusetts, and we want to find ways to support our local economies here, certainly no one does it better than The Big E," said Gov. Healey. The Big E generates over a billion dollars in economic revenue throughout its run, and Healey assured there is no better place to showcase all the commonwealth has to offer than New England's greatest fair. The Massachusetts Day celebration continues all day long with Massachusetts restaurants, breweries, and vendors selling products made right here in the Commonwealth.
