Virginia Beach works to correct 'printing error' for local mailin ballots

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- An error in printing occurred in several Virginia Beach districts for mail-in ballots in upcoming local elections, according to the city.
The Voter Registrar Office was notified of the mistake regarding candidates for City Council in Districts 3 and 7, as well as School Board candidates in District 4. The names were printed in the wrong order on ballots mailed out to around 7,400 homes.
In-person voting will not impacted.
Officials are in the process of working to mail the corrected ballots by Saturday, Sept. 21, ensuring the 45-day voting window.
Voters who were impacted will receive a letter from the Voter Registrar’s Office explaining the error. Residents can anticipate receiving two ballots in the mail, and are advised to disregard the first ballot mailing.
