NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Autumn officially begins Sunday, Sept. 22, bringing with it the start of Fall festivals, great live music and cooler weather that’s perfect for outdoor dining. Here are Where Y’at’s weekend picks! First, head to Lake Charles from Sept. 19 to Sept. 22, for the Louisiana Food and Wine Festival. It’ll include wine dinners, master classes, the Saturday, Sept. 21 grand tasting and a Sunday Jazz brunch. Enjoy cuisine from top chefs from around the region, as well as fine wines from around the world. Cirque du Soleil brings its new show Songblazers to the Saenger Theatre. This new show that’s fun for the entire family will celebrate country music’s greatest stars and is also a collaboration with Sam Williams: grandson of country music legend Hank Williams. Next, on Saturday, Sept. 21 the French Market hosts the third annual free Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. Local Latin-themed food vendors and community organizations will be in attendance. Plus, get free dance lessons while enjoying live music by performers from Bolivia, Venezuela, and other countries. Finally, the free Westbank Heritage Festival is at the Alario Center in Westwego on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22. This festival features live music, as well as food and crafts vendors. Headliners include Tamar Braxton, Keith Frank, and Con Funk Shun. VIP tickets include premium viewing, catered cuisine, and more. Look out, this weekend, for the new Where Y’at Magazine at over 650 locations across Greater New Orleans.
