NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WFRV) - Leaning on Josh Jacobs, a stingy defense, and a masterful gameplan from head coach Matt Lafleur, the Green Bay Packers, without Jordan Love, were able to win their 12th straight home opener and will now head back on the road to face the Tennessee Titans. The time leading up to kickoff in Nashville will be filled with Packers fans wondering one question, "Will Jordan Love play?" In what was initially determined to be an injury that would sideline the star quarterback for at least 3-6 weeks, Lafleur spent all of last week prior to the Colts game refusing to rule out and officially labeling him questionable. Turn to this week, Love was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, once again getting up the hopes that he may play this weekend. Despite whether or not Love is cleared to play, the Packers defense will be the side of the ball looking to make the most noise in "Music City" on Sunday. After recording just seven total interceptions in 2023, the 2024 defensive unit, led by new coordinator Jeff Hafley, has already snagged five and will be hungry for more as they go up against a Titans team that is dead last in turnover differential and is tied for the most turnovers given away. The matchup should provide plenty of opportunities for a defense that appears to be more aggressive in the secondary this season and, even if Love is cleared to play, the Packers' defense could make it so that he doesn't need to do much in securing another potential win for the Green and Gold. But before the Packers and the Titans clash at Nissan Stadium, let’s look at a couple of facts and predictions in this week’s edition of Prior to the Snap! That's no different with this year's big free agent signing of free safety Xavier McKinney. Looking for safety help and looking for a new look and style on defense, the Packers and McKinney agreed to a four-year deal this past offseason that was worth about $68M. So far this season McKinney has been worth just about every penny. He has picked off a pass in both games of the season so far and has made himself a vital part of the defense both as a playmaker and as a leader. This week, McKinney, along with the rest of the Green Bay defenders will be licking their chops for a chance to feast on a Tennessee offense that is suspectable in coughing up the football. Through two games the Titans have a league-worst turnover differential of -4 and Will Levis has struggled to protect the ball, throwing three interceptions and fumbling twice. PREDICTION: Xavier McKinney continues his interception streak.PREDICTED STATS: 4 tackles, 1 pass defended, 1 interception. WR Calvin Ridley While quarterback play hasn't been the best for the Titans in 2024, wide receiver Calvin Ridley is doing everything he can to keep the Tennessee offense afloat. After signing with the Titans in the offseason on a 4-year deal worth $92 million, Ridley leads the Tennessee offense in targets, is second on the team in receptions, and is tied for the lead in both rushing and receiving touchdowns. Just last week in a loss to Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets, Ridley hauled in four receptions on six targets for 77 yards and a touchdown. He also added a second touchdown on the ground after a 10-yard run in the first quarter. While Tennesse has struggled on offense, Ridley is dynamic enough of a player to be a threat to score every time the ball is in his hands. With the Packers' defense likely to be more aggressive in looking for turnovers, one mistake could allow Ridley to take advantage of an overly aggressive defense, keeping Tennesse in the game. PREDICTION: Calvin Ridley records 2024 season-high in yards and receptionsPREDICTED STATS: 7 receptions on 11 targets for 117 yards and 1 touchdown, 2 carries for 13 yards Injuries (Q=Questionable, D=Doubtful, O=Out, IR=Injured Reserve) Green Bay: DT Kenny Clack (Q), CB LJ Davis (IR), TE Tyler Davis (IR), RB AJ Dillon (IR), DE Kingsley Enagbare (Q), DT Jonathan Ford (IR), LB Ralen Goforth (IR), RB Josh Jacobs (Q), G Elgton Jenkins (Q), TE Tucker Kraft (Q), RB MarShawn Lloyd (IR), QB Jordan Love (Q), OT Jordan Morgan (Q), C Josh Myers (Q), WR Jayden Reed (Q), G Zach Tom (Q), CB Carrington Valentine (Q), OT Rasheed Walker (Q).
