GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) - Stratford High School has produced a lot of talent over the years, including three quarterbacks with the surname Davis. Before starting quarterback Jachin Davis took the field, there was Josh and J.D. "My youngest, other than me, I ran the ball out for him," Jachin said. "My other brother was in high school. I was always just playing around. But just seeing them play, they had their last name on their jerseys. It's awesome to look up to someone like that." As the youngest of three brothers, Jachin grew up carrying the ball out for his older brother. Now his older brothers are carrying down advice for him. "They tell me things I need to fix; I need to work on and that's the best thing that helps me," he said. "You need to have some criticism and it's good to have that stuff."  The family dynamic extends to Davis' head coach, Dennie McDaniel, who not only coached all three brothers but played for their dad too. "His dad was actually my offensive line coach at Charleston Southern, and I was the coordinator there," McDaniel said. "And I've been around the family the whole time. Knowing the family makes my job easier as a coach because I know what they've been instilled at home." McDaniel sees similarities in the three but feels Jachin is the most competitive and what's trusted him into the player that he is is seeing the foundation that the two older brothers have set and trying to exceed it. "He comes up on Sunday and watches film with us. He's part of our game planning on Sundays. What we talk about and things like that. And how he wants to attack things." Along with watching film and going to church. Jachin's Sundays are now spent watching J.D.'s brother-in-law Bo Nix quarterback the Denver Broncos. "I have stories of him being the first guy, he knocked out my first tooth playing basketball in the yard. But, now seeing him on tv at such a high stage is crazy, its surreal," said Jachin. Davis is carrying on the family linage of QB's at Stratford and is trying to leave his own legacy as a Knight. "I watch a lot of things on Tim Tebow, and he just talks about living a life of significance and that's what I want to leave a legacy that I made a difference in this school," Davis said. "Not just on the field, obviously get us wins and regions but just what I did at this school as a person, what I brought to the school and leave it a better place than I found it."
