Central Ohio Weather and Radar QUICK WEATHER FORECAST: Today: Mainly sunny, high 88 Tonight: Clear skies, low 63 Friday: Mostly sunny, warmer, high 89 Saturday: Sunny & hot, early spotty shower, high 90 Sunday: Some clouds, high 89 Monday: Evening/nighttime showers, high 85 FORECAST DISCUSSION: Good Thursday afternoon! Sunny & warm weather has quickly found its way back to Central Ohio. Trends are shaping up to keep the warming trend going into the weekend with plenty of sunshine. As we look at the drought continuing to intensify, we're keeping an eye on better chances for rain returning next week. A quick round of high pressure will settle in for the remainder of the work week. That will keep the skies clear and dry through at least Friday. Temperatures in that time will climb through the upper 80s, with numbers hovering around 90 degrees for the start of the weekend. An incoming cold front will gradually fall apart as it gets closer to our area. Still, we could see some very isolated showers Friday night into early Saturday morning. Dry & sunny weather returns in time for Sunday. However, there are still better chances for seeing rain in the forecast once we get into the first full week of Fall. Another, more organized, system will move in starting late Sunday and into Monday. Our best chance for rain will be in the second half of Monday, going overnight into Tuesday. We could even see a couple of thunderstorms develop across the area. Rain chances begin to recede by Wednesday. In the next 7 days, we could see the most rain we've seen since the beginning of August. Totals, at this point, will likely amount to an inch and more. Some local totals could reach as high as 1.5" to 2". When we see this rain, temperatures will gradually begin to cool down. While it will be a hotter start to the new season, we'll see numbers gradually fall closer to normal by next Wednesday. -Joe
