(CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) -- Several former Carolina Panthers players are among the new Pro Football Hall of Fame nominees revealed Tuesday.  There are 16 total who played for the Panthers on the list, coming on the heels of former defensive end Julius Peppers being inducted in July. The overall nominee list of 167 players will be cut to 50 by a special screening committee, and those results will be announced in mid-October. The full Hall of Fame selection committee will then reduce that list to 25 semifinalists and then to 15 finalists who will be discussed at the annual meeting ahead of Super Bowl LVIX. That new class can consist of three, four or five Modern-Era Players under the Hall of Fame’s bylaws.
