NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Clear skies, light winds, and even drier air for most, except the far-southeast corner of New Mexico, has allowed for radiational cooling to take place, with more-stable air aloft, for now. Despite some high, thin clouds passing on through from the south, it's a rain-free morning. Low-level moisture in lingering in Southeast New Mexico with temperatures in the 60s and low 70s, while dew-points have dropped even more elsewhere with below-freezing temperatures in the high elevations, while mostly everywhere else is ranging from the 30s to the lower 60s. Conditions will warm up even more as temperatures will rise across the region from the morning school commute into the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s by the afternoon. Not much moisture in the air will to lead to only some passing clouds for many with only a few showers possible around the southeastern areas of The Land of Enchantment. Stronger southwesterly upper-level winds have ushered in the clearer weather in New Mexico, allowing for previous moisture to shift northeast of the region for the short term, but more moisture will return from the south and west starting tomorrow with stronger surface winds. Near-to-above-normal high temperatures will ensue in the short term with near-normal low temperatures before the fall-like weather for the first weekend of fall.
