High school student arrested after threats cause evacuation, cancelation of classes in southern Indiana

CROTHERSVILLE, Ind. (WANE) An 18-year-old student in southern Indiana faces a felony charge of intimidation after he allegedly threatened to harm other students and cause damage at Crothersville High School.
School officials learned about the threats and informed the Crothersville Police Department at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday according to a news release from Indiana State Police. A short time later, an officer with the department arrived at the school and detained James S. Collman.
Other police agencies were called in to help evacuate the school and take students and staff to a safe location. Classes were canceled for the rest of the day.
During a sweep of the school with a K-9 unit and a bomb squad, no explosives or weapons were found.
Collman was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail on a felony charge of intimidation with additional charges possible.
Crothersville is about 40 miles north of Louisville.
