ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Our Wednesday has been a touch cloudier, a touch cooler, but otherwise largely similar to where we've been all week. High clouds have blanketed parts of the region this evening with radar suggesting light rain is out there. That's accurate. Just not the full story. That rain is falling through a significant chunk of dry air, gobbling up any chance for meaningful rain tonight. At this point, the difference is impossible to miss. We're losing close to 3 minutes of daylight each day. While our sunsets are arriving earlier and earlier, they are also progressing more southward on the horizon. The fall equinox arrives Sunday. pic.twitter.com/YxDQaTqfRx— Eric Snitil (@EricSnitilWx) September 18, 2024 I suspect we'll see more overall sunshine tomorrow, which will help spike our highs closer to 80° again. Same deal Friday where highs jump into the lower 80s. Partly cloudy skies will persist into the weekend, meaning more dry and quiet weather with Saturday temps around 80° and into the upper 70s Sunday. A fantastic weekend overall! We're eying our first rain chance in what will be about two weeks around Tuesday of next week. The overall pattern continues to suggest relatively warm weather holding tight for the remainder of the month in spike of fall arriving on Sunday. Fall officially arrives on Sunday, likely with little in the way of change. Pictured below, the 6-10 and 8-14 day temperature probability outlooks suggesting relative warmth will continue to hold on for the remainder of September.Rochester remains in a virtual tie with 1921 for… pic.twitter.com/ggIpTCP4Ka— Eric Snitil (@EricSnitilWx) September 18, 2024 8-Day Forecast
