FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Two adults and five high school students have been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place across the road from McLane High School in August, according to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office. According to the Sheriff's Office, detectives arrested five high school students and two adults in a shooting investigation that began late last month. On Aug. 21 at 3:40 p.m. dispatchers received a call of shots fired in the parking lot of an Auto Zone store at Clinton and Cedar in Fresno. Deputies say they arrived and found there to be no gunshot victims. According to deputies, they learned there was a disturbance between a large group of students who attended McLane High School. The preliminary investigation revealed a 15 year old boy used a handgun to pistol whip a teenager and a 16 year old student pulled out a handgun and fired shots as people were leaving the scene. Deputies say some of the bullets did strike a vehicle and a nearby restaurant but no one was seriously injured. 3 McLane High School students arrested in shooting near school Deputies say that four of the boys are students at Mclane High School and one boy is a student at Hoover High School. Witnesses helped deputies by providing descriptions and videos that were recorded on the scene. The next day, three students were arrested in connection to the shooting. Deputies say on Sept. 10, detectives served search warrants at two homes in Fresno. At one home they recovered two shotguns and two handguns, which were not used in the shooting. Officials say they arrested 43-year-old Jim Vue on suspicion of being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition; they also arrested 29-year-old Richie Vue on suspicion of possession of cocaine. 43-year-old Jim Vue29-year-old Richie Vue15 year old suspect 16 year old suspect 16 year old suspect At the other home, deputies say they recovered two handguns and evidence showed those handguns were a match to those used in the shooting. Detectives later contacted and arrested a 15-year-old who was responsible for hiding the handguns. According to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office, a 14-year-old who was a friend of the suspects was arrested on Monday. He was also identified in social media photos holding firearms - considered illegally possessing them, according to deputies. All the students were booked into juvenile hall and each is facing gun-related charges and some will be facing accessory charges. The two adult suspects, 43-year-old Jim Vue and 29-year-old Richard Vue, were the only two suspects officially identified. The identity of the students involved was not officially released.
