SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A San Francisco condo that once belonged to Vice President Kamala Harris is now available to rent on Airbnb. With one bedroom, two beds and 1.5 baths, the rental can take up to four guests, according to the listing. According to the New York Times, Harris sold the unit in 2021 to software engineer Zhengtao Ji. On Airbnb, Ji has "Superhost" status. The condo is listed in all caps as "AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE INSIDE THE HOME PREVIOUSLY OWNED BY VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS." Bay Area town named richest in California The 1,069-square-foot unit is located on the top floor of a "boutique building" in the city's South of Market neighborhood. Harris purchased the condo in 2004, the same year she was elected as San Francisco District Attorney. The listing has a 5-star rating and positive reviews. According to NYT, Harris, who is the current Democratic nominee for president, owned the property for 17 years. Reportedly, her now-husband, the first gentleman Doug Emhoff, proposed to her in the condo's kitchen back in 2014, dropping to his knee while Harris was looking through a Thai takeout menu. Harris lived in the condo until moving to the upscale Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles and eventually, to Washington D.C. According to the NYT, Ji, who goes by David, bought it for $860,000. If you're interested in renting the property, just be aware, it won't come cheap. San Francisco has strict rules on short-term rentals, and it is only available for a minimum of one month, which runs more than $6,000. Harris is set to return to San Francisco next week for a fundraiser.
