SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Vice President Kamala Harris is flying back to her old stomping grounds to attend a fundraising event in San Francisco for her presidential campaign. San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu wrote, "The presidential campaign is at an absolutely critical moment. As Election Day approaches, this is our opportunity to welcome her home and give her the support she'll need for the final push." The fundraiser, dubbed "An Afternoon With Vice President Kamala Harris," will be held on September 28 at an undisclosed location in the city, according to the Harris Victory Fund. Chiu said he first met Harris 26 years ago when they were both serving as young prosecutors. "Over the decades, we've all seen her incredible leadership, talent and vision as our San Francisco District Attorney, California Attorney General, U.S. Senator, and Vice President. She will be an incredible President -- particularly in contrast to Donald Trump - but this race is incredibly close, and she needs our support more than ever," Chiu wrote. Ticket prices for the September 28 event start at $500. For wealthy Harris supporters with plenty of cash, $926,300 and $500,000 tickets are also available. Harris was born in Oakland and grew up in Berkeley before she was elected as San Francisco District Attorney in 2004. Last week, Trump slammed the city of San Francisco and Harris during a press conference held at a private golf club. "(Harris) destroyed San Francisco and she destroyed the state," said Trump.
