WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wichita man was in court Wednesday, where a judge sentenced him in connection to a road rage shooting in June 2023. Kaeden Murphy, 23, was sentenced to 34 months in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated battery and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon on July 11. The shooting happened on June 21, 2023. The Wichita Police Department received multiple calls around 5:30 p.m. for a shooting in the 4400 block of S. Broadway. Kansas DCF denies records request in case where child’s remains found The victim was shot in the leg by Murphy. They were taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police said it was an argument that led to the shooting. The victim was driving a moped while Murphy was driving a pickup truck. Officers used the FLOCK camera system to find and arrest Murphy. The judge also ordered Murphy to pay $4,947.65 in restitution to the victim in the case.
