BECKET, Mass. (WWLP) - The Becket Police Department has announced the passing of K9 Kain. AG Campbell expects decision soon on MSP recruit death; Westfield State mourns K9 Kain joined the police force in August 2018 and was certified as a Patrol Dog under the North American Police Work Dog Association. He assisted in detecting narcotics, locating missing people, and tracking suspects. He also helped over ten different communities in Berkshire County. K-9 Kain alongside his partner Sgt. Hunt also demonstrated his skills at schools, DARE programs, and several community events. Kain was born in Hungary on August 28, 2017, and had just turned 7 years old before he passed on September 14th.
