Man found guilty of causing exwife's car to explode

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A man has been found guilty of planting an explosive device in his ex-wife's car, causing a fire that left half of her body burned.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Barry Wright was found guilty late Tuesday evening on three counts: use of a weapon of mass destruction, use of fire or explosive to commit any felony offense and possession of an unregistered destructive device.

On July 2, 2019, the Savannah Fire Department responded to the intersection of Columbus Drive and Reynolds Street. According to a witness, Catherine Glyn-Jones was stopped at a red light when her car burst into flames.
She was transported to the Augusta Burn Center for treatment and was later released.
Days after the incident, police arrested Wright. In a bond hearing, investigators testified that an expensive divorce was the motive of the crime.
