That video has now gone viral. In the video, Castillo ordered a number one in Navajo, asking for a darker-colored soda of any kind, and to her surprise, the drive-through worker understood what she ordered. The video has now gone viral after Castillo posted it on TikTok, gaining more than 1 million views. "It went smoothly. I was so surprised that it went smooth. She was spot on on my order," said Castillo in an interview with KRQE. Castillo is from Pueblo Pintado and Navajo is her first language. She made the video with her TikTok page in mind, it’s where she often makes content sharing her culture. “The younger generation, everyone below 30, it’s very rare that you actually see or meet someone that speaks fluently,” said Castillo. She hopes this video will encourage more people to keep the language and traditions of the Navajo culture alive. "I think it’s important to carry on the language and that's a part of us. Just like our traditions and so it’s very important to me and my family.” Castillo said this viral post has encouraged her to continue making videos on social media in her native language.
