SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation is helping two Santa Fe schools improve their gardens and outdoor learning spaces. Salazar and Chaparral elementary schools were each awarded $10,000 in grant funds to enhance and expand their garden areas. APS’s ‘Paper’ tutoring program enters second year Salazar Elementary School said it will expand its existing garden which will serve as a living classroom for students to learn about growing fresh produce and sustainability. Chaparral Elementary School plans to use the grant funds for its Cooking with Kids program with a focus on teaching students about gardening and connecting them to nature.
