PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Several road closures are in place in Prince George County due to a diesel fuel spill from a tractor-trailer. According to a spokesperson for Prince George County, a diesel fuel spill from a tractor-trailer on Golf Course Drive, between Hines and Reeds Road, has resulted in a hazardous materials, or hazmat, situation on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Road closures are in place near the area, including the closure of the intersections of Robin Road and Golf Course Drive, as well as Queen Road and Golf Course Drive. The spokesperson said the road closures are expected to be in place until 5 p.m. Wednesday. Detours are being implemented to minimize disruptions to the flow of traffic. Residents in the affected area are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes at this time. Due to the nature of the incident, the spokesperson said road closures may be in place for the rest of the week and into next week as clean-up efforts progress.
