Gun taken from student at Fort Wayne Community Schools Amp Lab

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A gun was taken from a student Wednesday at the Fort Wayne Community Schools Amp Lab located at Electric Works.
According to a district spokesperson, a staff member became aware of the gun and it was then immediately confiscated. The student did not make any threats towards staff or students and cooperated with police. No other information was provided.
FWCS also told WANE 15 that the district's weapons detection system will be installed at Amp Lab next week.
According to the Amp Lab website, Amp Lab at Electric Works is a half-day high school program available to 11th & 12th grade students inside the Fort Wayne Community Schools boundaries.
