(CNN)– Tupperware and some of its subsidiaries have filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company known for its plastic food storage containers and sales parties announced the filing in a statement on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Tupperware is seeking court approval to facilitate a sale process for the business. The Florida-based company says it is also seeking court approval to continue operating during the bankruptcy proceedings.
