BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Veterans Stand Down is returning and is set for mid-October. The stand down is a safe retreat for all veterans and their dependents, according to organizers. The event is set for Oct. 10 at Stramler Park from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 17 Scoreboard: Week 4 The event will provide resources for veterans and their dependents. If you would like to help you can donate gently used clothing items, new white shirts, underwear and monetary donations at the California Veterans Assistance Foundation until Oct. 7.
