For the record: Lake Catholic rolled Kenston in last year’s matchup, 49-14, with Frankie Trinetti completing 14 of 18 passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns. Kenston’s defense gave up 53 points last week in a loss to VASJ. So a big key will be the Bombers’ defense, based on last year’s result and last week’s result. … Lake Catholic’s offense is rolling. Trinetti was a perfect 10-for-10 for 208 yards and three touchdowns last week against South. The receiving group of Ace Peterlin, Cross Nimmo, Patrick Radigan and D.J. Sears is a challenge for a defense to cover. Jimmy Gibbons has developed into a strong running option for the Cougars. … Kenston put 35 points on the board last week against VASJ, including a blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown. Lucas Kaltenbach threw for 184 yards and Tymir Cardona had another big game receiving. RB Cohen Clark has run for nearly 400 yards through three games. But again, the focus in this game will be defense. Which team will get some stops and maybe create a turnover or two? … Lake Catholic is third in Division IV, Region 13. Kenston is 13th in rugged Division III, Region 9. The Bombers are in the midst of a difficult stretch, having played VASJ last week, Lake Catholic this week and then WRC favorite Chardon next week.
