SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A person who was shot and stabbed in the East Village neighborhood Tuesday died from his injuries, authorities said. Officers received a call around 7:39 p.m. reporting the incident, which took place in the 100 block of 14th Street, the San Diego Police Department confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI. Authorities say the victim, described as a male, was shot by one person and then stabbed by another. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Man suspected of sexually assaulting women during massages "The best information we have right now is that there was a group of people here on the sidewalk. There was some sort of altercation that broke out. One suspect shot our victim and another suspect stabbed him," said Lt. Jud Campbell with SDPD. The two suspects then reportedly parted and went opposite ways, police explained. No further suspect information is available at this time. The area was closed off for several hours as the Homicide Unit investigated the death. That area has since reopened. An investigation remains ongoing.
