Sep 18, 2024
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - The Kansas Department of Children and Families has denied KSN's request for any records relating to a case in Rose Hill where a child's remains were found buried in the backyard.
The remains were found on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at a home on Meeker Court and Rosewood Street. KSN News requested all documents from the agency relating to the address where the remains were found. The department responded to our request on Thursday, Sept. 18, saying the Kansas open records law does not require them to release any records, and the agency has not determined a finding of abuse or neglect in the case. The denial also says no criminal charges have been filed.

KSN News will continue to investigate. If any charges are filed or when more new details are released, KSN will resubmit the open records request.
