Isolated storm chances to wrap up the work week
Sep 18, 2024
What We’re Tracking
Mostly cloudy this morning
Isolated storms today
Active pattern
We are tracking some showers in our western counties this morning as folks are receiving some much needed rain. Our eastern counties seeing plenty of cloud cover, but missing out on the rain this morning.
The best rain chances will stay west today. Another round of rain develops early this afternoon into the evening hours. This will be in the form of isolated hit-or-miss thunderstorms. Some of them could produce gusty winds and small hail.
We are watching for more development of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday evening. These storms have a chance, a small chance at that, to go severe. If they are, it'll be marginal with some gusty winds and small hail. The best chance for rain looks to be in our eastern counties.
We'll continue to have hit-or-miss rain chances throughout the week, with hotter temperatures in the lower to middle 90s through Friday. By this weekend, a cold front will bring temperatures down to near average levels, just in time for the fall equinox on Sunday!
