HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) -  An injured hawk was rescued on Central Park Drive in Holyoke. Missing hiker rescued from Mt. Tom in Holyoke According to the Holyoke Police Department, a USPS worker found an injured hawk and called the police on Tuesday. Holyoke Police Officer Rex assisting Animal Control Officer Erick Velez were able to place the hawk into custody before it was taken to a wildlife rehabilitation center.  PHOTOS: Injured hawk rescued According to Mass Audubon, the most common hawk in Massachusetts is the Red-tailed Hawk, which can be seen in cities, suburbs, and the countryside. It feeds mainly on squirrels and other small mammals and rarely presents any threat to humans or pets.
