PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Hasbro has been an iconic fixture in Pawtucket for decades. There is now growing concern that company executives are looking to leave the state. The headquarters is currently located on Newport Avenue in Pawtucket. Governor Maura Healey’s office confirmed their economic team has met with Hasbro officials informally. Governor Healey’s office also sent us a statement to us reading in part: “We are always competing for businesses to move and expand to our state.” But Rhode island officials say they’re working to keep it within the state. ABC6 asked Governor Dan McKee what the relocation would mean for the Ocean State’s economy. According to a report from the Boston Business Journal, Hasbro officials have recently toured multiple downtown Boston office buildings for the potential relocation.
