BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A Woonsocket man was sentenced in U.S. District Court Monday for his role in a nationwide drug trafficking ring. Brian Keleman, 55, was sentenced to 60 months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of a superseding indictment charging him with conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances and money laundering conspiracy. Authorities seized 160 pounds of pure methamphetamine, an AK-47, several other firearms and 4,200 rounds of ammunition over the course of the investigation. The investigation began in October 2020 when authorities received information about a large-scale narcotics operation in the Boston area. A cooperating witness completed controlled purchases from Keleman’s co-conspirator, Edison Klotz, 48, of Stoughton, Mass. 108 grams of methamphetamine were purchased during this operation. Co-defendant Reshat Alkayisi was identified as a large-scale methamphetamine trafficker, and 12 controlled purchases were made between October 2020 and April 2021. Two were personally delivered by Alkayisi and one was negotiated by Alkayisi and delivered by Keleman. Keleman was also found to deliver narcotics on behalf of Alkayisi and assisted in his laundering of drug proceeds.   Categories: Massachusetts, News, Rhode Island
