NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Louisiana Department of Education is honoring our future service members. At the National WWII Museum, State Superintendent Cade Brumley highlighted young men and women who have enlisted in the U.S. military. Some are still in high school, while others have recently graduated. The recruits say that they’re ready to serve their country. Felipe’s partnering with Puentes to help Hispanic students in New Orleans area "I felt like this is a good opportunity for me, because I like being outdoors for a job that I'm going through at 13 Fox, a Joint Fire Support Specialist, and I'm just excited to get out there on the field and calling artillery," said Milton Fuentes, a future service member. The ceremony was part of an event to mark "Celebrate Freedom Week," which also includes classwork in school on things like the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights.
