Photo: City of Columbia     COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– City of Columbia Parks and Recreation will be holding an African festival to honor African culture, say city officials. The Akwaaba Festival will be held Saturday, September 28, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Dutch Square Mall (421 Bush River Road). City officials say the festival will be a joyful gathering that honors the unity and diversity of African communities. It will offer a space where people of all backgrounds can connect, celebrate and immerse themselves in the rhythmic beats of African drums, colorful attire, and the flavors of authentic African cuisine.
