CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. – 28-year-old Cameron Harrison has been sentenced to 12-24 years in prison on two counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Harrison will also be required to register as a sex offender for a period of 30 years. Investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office received an Internet Crimes Against Children tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children against the defendant in April 2024, alleging that he was in possession of images that showed child sexual abuse material. Harrison’s phone was confiscated by investigators and numerous text messages were found between Harrison and a teenage girl in Maryland. Images of the victim were also found in the phone at the request of Harrison and evidence showed the defendant left North Carolina to meet the victim in Maryland.
