BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Two recent Scotlandville Magnet High School graduates are on their way to stardom, taking social media by storm one note at a time. Austyn and Ayden Ligon, or "Dem Ligon Boiz," are twins who have gone viral on social media for their singing.  "We’ve been doing music since we were three and it’s always been a passion of ours," said Austyn. Captivating the church congregation at a young age, the pair said music is their place of comfort where it all makes sense and gospel is where it all started.  "Our first time singing was at church and just the reaction, everybody was just like 'Oh my God'," said Ayden. The song that took the church by storm was "Encourage Yourself" by Donald Lawrence. Their taste in music has evolved and so has their talent. One TikTok video has boosted exposure for the twins. The video alone has made the two an overnight viral social media sensation, and people can’t seem to get enough.  "That video was just like let's just put it out and the feedback from that was wow, I think that video was at 1.5 million views," said Ayden. With 1.5 million views and nearly 60,000 Instagram followers, the two credit their musical family for their style of singing.  "When you listen to us there's a piece of everybody in our family together and it just comes together between me and him," said Austyn. "My dad don't do rap, all he does is R&B, southern soul, and gospel, " said Ayden. The viral moment kicked off a series of videos from the pair in a place where the creative juices flow and the acoustics carry. Since the big moment they say they're grateful for the attention, but singing is just what they do. "It could get three views and I’m still going to be happy with it. The views and the comments, yeah I look at them from time to time, but I try to stay away from it so I don't blow my head up and I want to be humble in my music," said Austyn. "After that video popped up my phone started overheating in the middle of the night, yeah I tried not to look at it. I turned off all my notifications," said Ayden. They said earlier in their journey they tried running from their talent, shying away from the attention it brought. "If you have a gift, and God gives everyone a gift, don't sit on it because if you sit on it too long, you will lose it," said Austyn. In the meantime, "Dem Ligon Boiz" are just getting started.
