Tractortrailer fire leads to backup on I95 in Spotsylvania County

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said traffic on Interstate 95 in Spotsylvania County was delayed on Wednesday morning after a truck went up in flames leaving debris across the road.
In a post on X around 2:24 a.m., the department said several southbound lanes on the highway were blocked off due to a tractor-trailer fire at mile marker 119, near Exit 118, in the Thornburg area.

VDOT said the truck was carrying produce went it caught fire.
Throughout the morning, firefighters worked to extinguish the fire leading traffic to back up on the interstate. Clean-up crews also responded to clear the road.
In an update around 5 a.m., VDOT said traffic was delayed for more than two miles, and one lane was open on I-95.
